Agriculture is important because it represents a significant portion of developing countries' domestic production, exports, and employment, and it has important growth and employment multipliers for the rest of the economy.

Agriculture can help reduce poverty, raise incomes and improve food security for 80% of the world's poor, who live in rural areas and work mainly in farming. The World Bank Group is a leading financier of agriculture.

Agriculture and Food

Agricultural crops are important for several reasons. The growing impact of climate change could further cut crop yields, especially in the world’s most food-insecure regions. At the same time, our food systems are responsible for about 30% of greenhouse gas emissions.

Current food systems also threaten the health of people and the planet and generate unsustainable levels of pollution and waste. One third of food produced globally is either lost or wasted.

Addressing food loss and waste is critical to improving food and nutrition security, as well as helping to meet climate goals and reduce stress on the environment.

Risks associated with poor diets are also the leading cause of death worldwide. Millions of people are either not eating enough or eating the wrong types of food, resulting in a double burden of malnutrition that can lead to illnesses and health crises.

Food insecurity can worsen diet quality and increase the risk of various forms of malnutrition, potentially leading to undernutrition as well as people being overweight and obese. An estimated 3 billion people in the world cannot afford a healthy diet.

Engineering  in Agriculture

Genetic engineering can provide numerous benefits in the agricultural field like faster and more precise breeding, increased crop yields, growth of nutritious food in increased quantity, and decreased need for harmful chemicals like herbicides and pesticides.

In addition to that, it has also enabled the development of disease-resistant crops, which is why the yield has increased so much which is sufficient to meet the demands of the increasing population.

Food for Animals

Animals also get their food grown through agriculture for example fodder, silage and more and that is why agriculture is important.

Agriculture Importantce In Climate Change

Agriculture is very sensitive to weather and climate. It also relies heavily on land, water, and other natural resources that climate affects.

While climate changes (such as in temperature, precipitation, and frost timing) could lengthen the growing season or allow different crops to be grown in some regions, it will also make agricultural practices more difficult in others.

 Intelligence and Agricultural Production

Though humans have been farming for hundreds of years, Find the better ways to grow crops, as well as how to maximize crop yield. Farmers need to take advantage of this before it’s too late.

It also can be a threat if farmers don’t use this technology appropriately.

For example, while there are many methods for optimizing the production of crops, there are also many unknowns about what will happen when  if they want their futures on this land secure.

 Cultural Impactance

Rural livelihoods: Agriculture sustains the livelihoods of millions of rural families.

Cultural heritage: Many cultures are deeply rooted in agricultural traditions and practices.

Animals Meat

Some economically important traits in meat animals are heritable to some degree, and can thus be selected for by animal breeding. In cattle, certain growth features are controlled by recessive genes which have not so far been controlled, complicating breeding.[12]

One such trait is dwarfism; another is the doppelender or "double muscling" condition, which causes muscle hypertrophy and thereby increases the animal's commercial value.[12]

Genetic analysis continues to reveal the genetic mechanisms that control numerous aspects of the endocri

Livestock Products

Animal-based products like leather, wool, and dairy are essential for many industries.

Natural Food

Natural food and all-natural food are terms in food labeling and marketing with several definitions, often implying foods that are not manufactured by processing.

In some countries like the United Kingdom, the term "natural" is defined and regulated;[2] in others, such as the United States, the term natural is not enforced for food labels, although there is USDA

Conclusion

Agriculture is an industry that is contributing to climate change. There are many ways in which agriculture contributes to the increase of greenhouse gases. One of the main ways agriculture contributes to climate change is through fertilizer. This fertilizer has nitrates that don’t naturally occur in nature and when these nitrates break down, they release methane gas into the atmosphere. Industries such as meat, dairy, & poultry provide a majority of greenhouse gases globally and account for about 1/3 of all human-caused greenhouse gas emissions. Agriculture is one way to reduce CO2 emissions while still satisfying ever-growing demand. One strategy for this is by changing the focus of cattle production to include crop development on a larger scale.
